What better way to begin 2026 than with a getaway that’s all about sun, sand, and serenity? The Turks and Caicos Islands offer the perfect escape for rest and renewal with picture white-sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and luxurious resorts where relaxation comes naturally. Whether you’re lounging on Grace Bay, snorkeling in vibrant reefs, or savoring fresh island cuisine with your toes in the sand, Turks and Caicos is the kind of destination that slows everything down and helps you reconnect with what matters most.

Hello Wanderlust Travelers!

March always feels like the unofficial starting line of the travel season. We are in full planning mode, finalizing last-minute Spring Break getaways and mapping out summer adventures before availability tightens and rates inevitably rise. If your summer trip is still just an idea floating around, now is the time to turn it into a confirmed plan. The most sought-after hotels, guides, and experiences are already filling in, and waiting often means fewer options and higher pricing. Thoughtful, proactive planning is what transforms a good trip into an extraordinary one.

This month feels especially meaningful as I just returned from a once-in-a-lifetime sailing journey through the Galápagos Islands. Before setting sail, we began on mainland Ecuador in Guayaquil, visiting a cacao farm to learn the hands-on chocolate-making process and exploring the colorful hillside neighborhood of Las Peñas, one of the city’s oldest quarters with sweeping river views. It was the perfect cultural introduction before heading somewhere truly wild.

Then came the sailing. Cruising between the islands was extraordinary, with wildlife encounters that felt almost surreal, from snorkeling alongside playful sea lions and spotting penguins to swimming among vibrant fish and even sharks, which sent me quickly back to the boat. Often considered the birthplace of modern conservation, the Galápagos remains remarkably untouched thanks to strict regulations, limited visitor numbers, and a deep commitment to preservation. Sustainability is not a trend here; it is simply a way of life.

What stayed with me most were the people. The locals who call these islands home carry a perspective that is grounding and refreshing, deeply connected to nature, protective of their environment, and genuinely joyful. Their outlook reminds you that fulfillment does not come from excess, but from balance.

Travel, at its core, is about connection to the land, wildlife, culture, and one another. The Galápagos is one of those rare places where that connection feels pure and powerful. If an experience like this has been on your list, I would love to help you explore it thoughtfully and intentionally.

THIS MONTH'S DREAM DESTINATION WITH WANDERLUST TRAVEL GROUP: GALAPAGOS ISLANDS

Planning a journey to the Galápagos Islands requires thoughtful coordination, from selecting the right yacht or land-based lodge to securing preferred sailing dates and expert guides. With Wanderlust Travel Group, every detail is seamlessly handled, ensuring a curated, conservation-conscious experience that aligns perfectly with your travel style.

Arriving in the Galápagos Islands begins with a flight from mainland Ecuador, typically from Guayaquil or Quito, into Baltra or San Cristóbal. From the moment you land, it is clear this is no ordinary destination. Strict entry regulations protect the fragile ecosystem, and most visitors explore by small expedition yacht to access remote, uninhabited islands, though land-based stays on the inhabited islands are also an option for a slower pace. Either way, every excursion is led by certified naturalist guides who bring the landscape and wildlife to life.

Each island has its own personality. Santa Cruz Island is known for giant tortoises roaming the highlands, Isabela Island for its dramatic volcanic scenery, and San Cristóbal Island for its lively sea lion colonies and beautiful beaches. Across the archipelago, highlights include snorkeling with sea lions, spotting blue-footed boobies, hiking lava fields, and kayaking along rugged coastlines. It is immersive, wild, and unlike anywhere else in the world.

Wanderlust Travel Group's Stay in Style:  Sea Star Galapagos Yacht

The Galapagos Sea Star Journey is an elegant small-ship expedition yacht offering an intimate way to explore the Galápagos Islands. Spacious ocean-view suites, many with private balconies, create a boutique hotel feel at sea. Onboard spaces include a panoramic lounge, sun deck with Jacuzzi, and refined dining inspired by local flavors. With a limited number of guests and expert naturalist guides, it delivers a seamless blend of immersive adventure and elevated comfort.

Wanderlust Travel Group, Travel Agency recommended visiting this stunning restaurant on Santa Cruz Island in Galapagos for delicious food and the most epic views.

Wanderlust Travel Group Recommends Taste Local Flavors: The Point on Santa Cruz Island

Perched along the waterfront in Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island, The Point Galápagos pairs sweeping ocean views with a refined yet relaxed atmosphere. The menu highlights fresh, locally sourced seafood and Ecuadorian flavors with a contemporary twist, making it a standout dining experience in the islands. It is the kind of place where sunset cocktails effortlessly turn into a lingering dinner as the sky shifts over the Pacific. After days of adventure, it feels like the perfect spot to savor the moment and reflect on everything you have experienced.

Wanderlust Travel Group says Don’t Miss This: El Chato Ranch - Giant Tortoise Reserve

Visiting the El Chato Ranch - Giant Tortoise Reserve on Santa Cruz Island is one of the most memorable experiences in the Galápagos Islands. Here, giant tortoises roam freely in their natural habitat, slowly moving through lush greenery and muddy lagoons just as they have for centuries. Walking among them feels both humbling and surreal, offering a rare opportunity to observe these iconic creatures up close. It is a powerful reminder of the islands’ extraordinary biodiversity and the importance of ongoing conservation efforts.
